July Youth Mass: "Hidden Treasure"

July's Youth Mass (26 July, Sat, Verbist Hall) was yet another miracle. For the last 3 months, we've been having trouble securing our priests from other parishes to come over to OLPS, because our priests in Singapore are all packed with tight schedules! This month was no exception. With a last minute change in plans, our first priest could not make it. That left us scurrying just ONE week before the Mass.. it was an emergency!!!

Finally, by God's Grace, through Neil's help, we managed to get Fr. Michal Gitner to celebrate Mass for us in the nick of time. And we were so thankful for his presence with us. The mass was great! In a gentle yet firm homily, he challenged us, right at the start by asking, "Why are we here?"

Thru the Homily, Fr. Michal also encouraged us to include more silent time into our events. In a gist, his message was to challenge us, "can we risk everything for the kingdom of God?"

We certainly learned from Fr. Michal that night.

And so, this Mass was the last of our Youth Masses held at the Verbist Hall. In September we move back to the Main Parish. So while we may miss our pretty, cosy Verbist Hall, this may be a sign for new things to come! A welcome change, to reach out to even more youths in OLPS! Way to go!
