Leadership 101
I was reading an email from "building church leaders" - well it's an e-newsletter that I subscribe to. The excerpt went like this:
One of our site's advisors recently passed on some leadership advice to our readers: "Be good at the basics," he wrote. "Show up for board meetings fully prepared. Return phone calls and answer email. Be on time for funerals. Smile at weddings." That's Leadership 101. You can't go to 201 without passing the entry-level course.
And that is so true.
And so what is my take on leadership 101 in "simpler" words?
Just, come, be available, be present. Be humble, be diligent, and always serve the people around you and keep the vision clear and alive. That's what I learnt from being in OLPS Youth so far!
While we may still be working on it or far from the ideal state, I believe, each of us who have been serving have been blessed and have grown in our own ways. But it's always a journey right?
God is the gardener. Maybe our part is simply to sow the seed. Or add some water. But the big picture is the same for everyone -- to see the seed grow into a marvellous tree..
Leadership is learnt, leaders are made. YOU can be one.
