Youth Comm Vision Day for 2009

THe Youth Committee has just met up over the weekend (28 Dec 08), for our Vision Day meeting. It was a very fruitful meeting for 2009. Took a whole of 4 hours - can you believe it? At the end, we were pretty zonked out!

But we talked about so many things. How we can encourage growth, reach out to the parish, foster unity & work as One, and do events that really let people see we are working hard together...

Frankly... all these, why do we do that? If you've ever paused to think, you'd just wonder - what do we gain from doing all these work.

But think again... and you'll come to realise, that this is not a job. It is "ministry". So that should not even be the question at all. We are not trying to "gain" something.

Rather, the question should be, "Am I not touched enough to Love and Serve as Christ did?" If I am not, then why?

And so our mission for 2009 - is as discussed: "Spiritual Growth". We want to see our youth members and parish youths develop greater interest in spiritual growth, our members to develop a healthy prayer life, to have a relationship with God, to be deepened in our faith, so that we can serve and do mission, understanding the godly principles of service.

So, pray for us for next year, and here's wishing all a very Happy New Year! We look forward to the year of 2009!
